Project Manager: Vodacom mHealth Project
Main purpose of the job
The purpose of the position is to oversee project implementation, management and reporting.
Location
Hillbrow, Johannesburg
Key performance areas
Provide supervision to project co-ordinators and fieldworkers.
Work with project co-ordinators to management recruitment, enrolment and follow-up of participants.
Assist with the development of appropriate project monitoring tools.
Work with project co-ordinators to train project staff in relevant standard operating procedures.
Assist in obtaining necessary DoH approvals to expand the projects to new sites in Gauteng, North West and Mpumalanga.
Support design and roll out of evaluation and research activities as appropriate.
Participate in internal and external meetings to discuss project progress, challenges and new opportunities as feasible.
Develop monthly progress reports and circulate to funders, collaborating partners and WRHI.
Develop and disseminate research outcome reports, updates, successes and challenges to the team and other relevant stakeholders.
Assist in the development of journal articles, best practice materials, reports and other materials that document the experiences of the portfolio. Present information at conferences and meetings.
Required minimum education and training
A Master’s Degree in a research orientated area (psychology, education, anthropology, public health, etc.).
MS Office proficiency.
Basic knowledge of data analysis software (e.g. SAS, STATA etc.).
Required minimum work experience
3 years’ project and staff management experience.
Experience working at community level and mHealth desired.
Research experience. Qualitative and quantitative data collection analysis.
Report writing experience.
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach to work.
Adaptable with the ability to multi-task and prioritise. Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to problem-solve.
Sound interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.
Experience in sexual and reproductive health environment. Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDDS.
Local and international travel may be required.
Valid drivers’ licence.
