Promoting Wellness The Community Care Centre, within the Hillbrow Health Precinct, was developed in response to the need for a holistic approach to support and care for people affected by HIV and AIDS beyond a clinical environment.
The Community Care Centre offers HIV-positive people and their families general support, information, advice and referral. It seeks to connect social and psychological services to the existing nearby clinical services to provide a comprehensive support structure to a needy and deprived community in the heart of Johannesburg. It complements the reproductive health-focused “Centre of Excellence” in the Esselen Street Clinic and the newly renovated Hillbrow Community Health Centre.
